This is a document that is mostly taken from the CMS DRG file list, but it is slightly modified to expand most of the abbreviations that are not generally known or easily deducted. The list of remaining abbreviations in this file and their meanings are in the second appendix of the DRG tutorial. The MDC column is also relocated in front of the DRG numbers for ease of visualizing the categories and which DRGs fall under which MDC category. The full MDC category description is also provided. These DRGs are effective October 1, 2006. |
